I joined Sharratts in 2016, primarily to work alongside Richard, Nick and Jane within the development team. Previously, I was a member of Lewis Silkin’s social housing and wider real estate team. I have also sat on the board of an RP.
I have broad experience of acting for registered providers, including all aspects of development and property work, funding, security, and planning. I have also advised providers and other clients on governance matters, including regulatory, charity and vires issues, including stock transfers and special projects (green energy solutions).
I have a good knowledge of the planning regime, having worked with the Mayoral family on significant planning applications in the capital, including infrastructure and affordable housing aspects.
Most recently I have been working for a specialist shared ownership investment consultancy together with one of the leading investment fund managers to successfully develop an innovative management leaseback model for investment in shared ownership housing portfolios.
Outside of work hours, I am a family man - married with four children, and living in mid-Sussex. I enjoy spending time on the nearby downs and at the coast, golf, music (choral singing) and a good pint!
I am one of the two founding Partners of the Firm, and have been practising in Social Housing Law since 1986.
I specialise in Real Estate development and Planning Law.

I joined the Firm in 2004 having previously worked following qualification at a West End London Firm, where I gained experience in general Commercial Property work, including acting for major National Retailers and Developers.
Since joining Sharratts I have acted mainly for Registered Provider clients and have dealt with a wide variety of property work, particularly focussing upon development land site acquisitions and commercial property transactions. I have particular expertise in the drafting and negotiation of Commercial Leases and the Charging of Portfolios to private lenders. I became a Partner in October 2007.
I actively enjoy squash, tennis and mountain walking, and less actively these days, football.
I have been a partner at Sharratts since 2014. I qualified in 1983 and spent many years inhouse with national house builders. Between 2001 until 2014 I worked in private practice in central London, acting for both registered providers and house builders.
My specialism is dealing with development and regeneration schemes, including land acquisition, sales and planning, acting for registered providers, house builders and other developers.
I am divorced with three children, who are all grown up now, and enjoy reading, the theatre, swimming and walking.
Having graduated from the University of Kent with a Law LLB (Hons) degree, I completed the Legal Practice Course at the Inns of Court School of Law in 2011. In 2017 I joined Sharratts having previously worked in Litigation for a large regional law firm.
Now, I work in the Housing Association Asset Management Team and deal with a wide range of property matters, particularly Auctions, Lease Extensions, Right to Buy/Right to Acquire and general asset management transactions.
Outside of work I am a keen sportsman who enjoys cycling, football, scuba diving and skiing. I also enjoy sharing a nice bottle of red with friends.
I joined Sharratts in April 2013 from a firm of solicitors in Croydon who specialised in property law. I was with my previous firm for over 7 years and primarily dealt with shared ownership plot sales, resales and staircasings. I currently deal with shared ownership plot sales, resales and staircasings.
I have two small children who take up all my spare time!
Office Administration Manager
Prior to joining Sharratts in July 2014 I worked in sales for both London & Quadrant Housing Trust and Moat Homes from 2005.
I am responsible for compiling weekly returns for clients & our own internal monthly returns.
I also deal with plot sales post completion matters to ensure all documents are received for deeds storage and any queries raised are actioned swiftly.
I joined Sharratts in 2012 as a Licensed Conveyancer having qualified in 2010. My previous experience is in residential conveyancing and new build. I specialise in Shared Ownership sales, Resales, Final and Partial Staircasing, DIYSO’s and Deed of Variations.

Chartered Legal Executive
I joined Sharratts in September 2017 and deal with the site set up elements for developments of both private and shared ownership sales.
I am a Chartered Legal Executive and have more than 10 years’ experience in plot sales site set up and related matters. I was previously with Cripps LLP acting both for private developers and RPs and before that gained a wealth of experience working in-house for an East Sussex based developer.
In my spare time I enjoy playing netball, am an active member of my local Young Farmer’s Club and am a Council member for the South of England Agricultural Society.
Trainee Legal Executive
I joined Sharratts in August 2017 after spending four years at a small London firm where I gained experience in a wide range of property transactions. I am part of the Disposals Department dealing mainly with Shared Ownership resales and staircasing matters.
I enjoy anything sport related and love going to the cinema. Also makes the best Mac & Cheese.

I joined Sharratts in 2014 as a Paralegal and became a Trainee Solicitor in 2015 on completion of my LPC. I qualified in May 2017 and joined the Disposals Department dealing with plot sales of all tenures, Shared Ownership resales and staricasing matters.
I spent a year in Italy teaching English as a foreign language and enjoy playing cricket.
I joined Sharratts in 2005 having previously dealt with development work for private clients. I became a partner in 2010 and head up the Disposals Department with responsibility for new build plot sales of all tenures. I also oversee resales, staircasing and DIYSO transactions.
I have two young sons therefore have limited time for hobbies but enjoy keeping fit and travelling.
I qualified as a solicitor seventeen years ago and have worked for housing associations for the last ten years. I joined Sharratts in 2012, am the head of the Housing Association Asset Management Team and deal with a wide range of property matters, particularly Right To Buy / Right to Acquire, auctions, lease extensions, individual sales and purchases and general asset management work.
I am kept busy by a young family but, when I get the chance, I enjoy sailing, cycling and walking.
I joined Sharratts in January 2016 after gaining broad experience working within a housing association and at a number of local authorities.
I work within the Disposals Department and specialise in affordable home ownership and private plot sales together with resales and staircasing matters.
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with family and friends, watching boxing and movies.
I joined Sharratts in 2015 as a Paralegal and became a Trainee Solicitor in 2016. I qualified as a Solicitor in July 2018 and joined the Development Department having gained previous experience in the Asset Management Department and the Disposals Department.
When I am not at work, I enjoy travelling, cooking and a good glass of wine.
I joined Sharratts in November 2018 after working for Batchelors, Lewis Silkin and Winckworth Sherwood where I acted on development, sales, disposals and general property matters for Registered Providers, Local Authorities, private developers and charities.
I specialise in site acquisitions for Registered Providers in London and the Home Counties from small infill sites to large agricultural land and everything in between including purchasing sites subject to overage agreements or entering into long-term promotion agreements over land.
I deal with planning matters including Section 106 Agreements, Highways Agreements and Nominations Agreements. I also deal with site setups for both shared ownership and open market plot sales and previously supervised a team that dealt with all types of disposals for Registered Providers including plot sales, staircasing, resales, auction disposals and lease extensions.
I have experience in negotiating development agreements and advising on general construction matters and have also acted for Registered Providers and building contractors on joint venture agreements and grant agreements.
I have also acted for Registered Providers in dealing with commercial property transactions including the grant of commercial leases and telecommunications leases so am able to advise on most property matters.
I am currently the chair of a Registered Provider based in Brockley and have previously been the vice chair of the Southwark Law Centre. I also provide pro-bono advice to the Bromley Citizens Advice Bureau on a regular basis.
Most of my spare time is taken up with two young children but when I get the chance I still enjoy running, cooking and tending to my allotment.
