Ben Halsey

I joined Sharratts in 2016, primarily to work alongside the partners within the development team.  Previously, I was a member of Lewis Silkin’s social housing and wider real estate team.  I have also sat on the board of an RP. 

I have broad experience of acting for registered providers, including all aspects of development and property work, funding, security, and planning.  I have also advised providers and other clients on governance matters, including regulatory, charity and vires issues, including stock transfers and special projects (green energy).

I have a good knowledge of the planning regime, having worked with the Mayoral family on significant planning applications in the capital, including infrastructure and affordable housing aspects.

Most recently I have been working for a number of for-profit RP entities, and also one of the leading investment fund managers regarding an innovative management leaseback model for investment in new-build and existing affordable housing stock.

Outside of work hours, and a busy family schedule, I enjoy spending time on the South Downs and at the coast with my dog, playing the occasional round of golf, and choral singing.
